Job Description

In this work environment, all team members are part of a community and appreciated by the people they work with – residents and coworkers – every day.Summary:Responsible for managing the Care Center and Assisted Living areas of care in accordance with EverTrue policies and procedures and those of the various regulatory bodies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:1. Promotes the health and wellness philosophy of EverTrue, ensuring a resident-focused approach is maintained by all staff and that a home-like environment is provided for each resident of the Care Center and Assisted Living areas of care; Maintains close contact with residents and is available to families2. Promotes a resident focus by building and maintaining relationships, seeking feedback, and improving customer service; Assists with resolving resident/family grievances if unresolved at the departmental level; Serves as a resident advocate and ensures resident’s rights are preserved3. Evaluates resident care, resident satisfaction, and departmental operations; Actively seeks ways of improving resident care outcomes, satisfaction, and organizational performance4. Promotes a Christian work environment within the staff; Models healthy communication, and promotes cooperation and team work; Coaches and mentors supervisors in the management of departmental functions and in the management of staff5. Provides organizational oversight and day to day management of various programs of care for the older adults; Works directly with, and supports, Directors and Supervisors to ensure practices are in accordance with EverTrue policies and procedures and our Core Values; Conducts monthly meetings with key managers to ensure communication flows throughout the departments and resident care and services are delivered appropriately6. Ensures staff are trained, have the necessary resources to perform the job, that they have meaningful work to maximize job satisfaction, and that they are valued. Approves hiring, promotions, and transfer of staff. Maintains effective departmental orientation programs7. Ensures that Life Step screening and service plans are completed in the Assisted Living area, within 14 days of admission, annually and upon the significant change of a resident8. Participates in the strategic planning for the Community, Care Center and Assisted Living areas. Submits and implements capital and operating budgets, working closely with the finance department; Monitors facility monthly revenues and expenses and ensures an inventory system for consumables is maintained; Ensures resident and third-party billing is timely, accurate and complete; Monitors bad debt, benevolent care, and third-party reimbursement9. Develops and sustains a team approach with community leadership and may be responsible for the community in the absence of the Community’s Executive Director; Provides support to the Executive Directors and leads committees as directed10. Monitors staff performance in meeting or exceeding standards and ensures compliance with applicable laws, rulings, such as OSHA, CDC, CMS, HIPAA, state licensure laws, Fair Housing Act, etc. and EverTrue policies and procedures. Stays abreast of changes in these laws, rulings, policies, and procedures and keeps staff informed11. Ensures staff maintains safe working practices and is knowledgeable of the Disaster Plan and their specific roles; Works closely with the local fire and police departments to ensure a safe environment for residents is maintained. Ensures facilities are well maintained, clean, free from hazards and functioning properly; Leads and supports compliance with all regulations and requirements of licensing, accrediting and regulatory authorities12. Missouri/Illinois (depending on the location of the community) Nursing Home Administrator’s license is required for management of licensed facilities or to be obtained within 12 months of the hire date2. Bachelor’s degree in health care related field, business, or gerontology preferable3. Experience working in a CCRC or nursing home facility with experience under Medicare PPS4. Demonstrated leadership ability in a team-based environment5. Experience working with the problems and concerns of older adults and their families and ability to problem-solve complex issues and circumstances6.
