Job Description

SUMMARY

A dynamic manufacturing organization is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Controller to lead its financial operations. This role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal part in shaping financial clarity and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will collaborate with leadership, enhance cost accounting processes, and drive financial strategy within a collaborative team environment. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the month-end and year-end financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across reporting cycles.
  • Oversee the general ledger and financial reporting systems to uphold integrity and compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements; assist in audit readiness and board-level financial presentations.
  • Supervise cost accounting functions including standard and job costing, and lead improvements in inventory valuation.
  • Partner with supply chain and operations to monitor variances and identify margin enhancement opportunities.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process; support strategic planning through financial modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Track KPIs such as DSO, DPO, and cash conversion cycle, offering insights and corrective action plans.
  • Assess and enhance internal control frameworks, ensuring alignment with audit standards and internal policies.
  • Coordinate external audits and liaise effectively with auditors to ensure compliance and transparency.
  • Mentor and manage accounting staff across AP/AR and general ledger functions, fostering a collaborative and accountable team environment.
  • Promote cross-training and support succession planning within the finance department.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA credential is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, including 3+ years in a leadership or Controller role.
  • Must have experience in a manufacturing setting, with strong knowledge of cost accounting and GAAP principles.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems is required; Syteline experience is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis functions, are essential.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to blend tactical execution with long-term strategy.
  • Proven track record of leading process improvements, managing change, and elevating financial operations.
