The Emergency Management & Security Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight, development, and implementation of programs that ensure a safe, compliant, and effective environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This leadership role supports the hospital’s regulatory readiness, emergency preparedness, workplace violence prevention, and safety/security operations in alignment with Det Norske Veritas (DNV) standards and other applicable regulations. The Emergency Management & Security Manager directly oversees the in-house security team and serves as a liaison between hospital departments, regulatory bodies, and external emergency response agencies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include Compliance and Program Coordination, Emergency Management, Security, Workplace Violence Prevention, Fire/Life Safety, Hazardous Materials & Waste, Safety, Training and Education, Documentation and Reporting, and Other Duties as Assigned. The role involves ensuring compliance with various standards and regulations, developing and maintaining emergency management programs, directing security operations, leading workplace violence prevention efforts, coordinating fire and life safety training, managing hazardous materials programs, supporting safety initiatives, delivering training, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with hospital leadership and external agencies.Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (preferred), five years of progressive experience in healthcare safety or related fields (preferred), at least two years in a leadership role (required), strong knowledge of emergency management principles and regulations, excellent analytical and communication skills, and relevant certifications preferred. The position is full-time, exempt staff, located in Elma, Washington, at Summit Pacific Medical Center, a public hospital district with a critical access hospital and multiple clinics.
