Job Description

Parts Manager Opportunity Summary:

As a CT Power Parts Manager, you will direct and coordinate the activities of a Parts Department, and work in cooperation with the Service and Sales Department, to develop and maintain a satisfied and loyal customer base through excellent customer service.

Job Duties:

  • Supervisory Responsibilities (assigning and directing work) for all people assigned to the parts department.
  • Coach and counsel employees to the highest level of customer satisfaction and inventory accuracy.
  • Develops employees for future roles
    • Responsible for inventory replenishment
    • Investigate and correct order strategies when they're not producing the desired inventory levels.
    • Review and adjust order controls for parts meeting exception criteria.
  • Account Management
    • Inside Sales Support for large and/or important accounts
    • Ordering and Expediting Orders
    • Advising
  • Maintain relationships with certain customers, including outside sales calls
  • Bid Preparation
    • Work with vendors for competitive pricing
  • Support outside salespeople (marketing/new product rollouts)
    • Meets regularly with Service Management to review the Parts Department's performance in support of the Service Operation.
    • Reviews open service issues regularly, identifying and correcting procedural issues impacting overall customer satisfaction in the Service Department.
    • Reviews mandatory inventory exception reports impacting inventory values and corrects to maintain inventory accuracy.
    • Assigns other inventory exception reports to be reviewed and corrected, and oversees the successful completion.
    • Investigates cycle count exceptions and adjusts inventory as needed to assure inventory accuracy.
    • Determines root cause of inventory inaccuracies and implements corrective action.
    • Reviews financial and performance reports to determine whether divisional and corporate objectives are being met.
    • Participates in forecasting future business results.
    • Identifies areas of concern and determines corrective action.
    • Maintains a safe and clean work environment in all parts areas of the operations, complying with EPA, OSHA, and corporate regulations.

Work Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, leadership, & customer service
  • Strong working experience in successfully growing parts revenue.
  • Computer and software skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to be certified to operate a forklift.
