Salary : $75,000 - $95,000

A leading U.S. food manufacturer is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join its team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and verify food labeling content, including ingredient statements, allergen declarations, Nutrition Facts Panels, and claims to ensure full regulatory compliance
  • Lead regulatory activities across new product development and renovation projects — from concept through launch
  • Ensure label and communication compliance across print, eCommerce, Smart Label, and digital assets
  • Monitor U.S. regulatory landscape and industry trends to proactively identify risks and opportunities
  • Maintain documentation and substantiation for all product and marketing claims
  • Support cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Quality, Marketing, Legal, and Procurement, with clear regulatory guidance
  • Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of internal compliance tools, systems, and SOPs
  • Engage with external regulatory bodies, agencies, and trade associations when needed
  • Provide input on Food Safety Plans and collaborate with QA on regulatory risks associated with ingredients or processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in regulatory affairs within the food or beverage industry (experience with dairy is a plus)
  • Deep understanding of FDA labeling regulations, including knowledge of standards of identity and claims substantiation
  • Experience developing food labels and supporting documentation in line with U.S. regulatory requirements
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in a cross-functional environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with automated labeling and compliance tools
  • Knowledge of SmartLabel and digital product communication platforms
  • Familiarity with allergen management, sustainability claims, and nutritional targets
